Lanesboro Ballyleague Notes

Ladies in County Final

Last Sunday morning in Carrickedmond proved to be an excellent day in the recent history of Rathcline Ladies football team. The team has been in transition for the past few years and the ladies continued to fight with tremendous spirit and dedication. Their just rewards were bestowed on them on Sunday when they defeated last years Junior Champions, Forgney, playing a great brand of football.

Next Saturday, at a venue not decided as we go to press, the Ladies will play in their first final since 2006 where they take on Mostrim in what should be another great game. We wish the girls and their management every success and look forward them bringing the county title to Lanesboro. Se local press for details of venue and time. We hope a big number from the parish will go and support the Ladies.

Championship time on Sunday next

Following another great result on Saturday last the St. Faithleach’s senior football team have qualified for the Division 1 League semi final where they will play Clann na Gael for a place in the final.

Before that they have a more pressing engagement on Sunday next in Hyde Park where they will face old adversaries St. Brigid’s in the championship semi final. The team has prepared diligently for this big challenge. A place in the county final beckons and on 2pm on Sunday there is only one place to be and that is Hyde Park.
