The schedule is now set
for what should be a remarkable day on Sunday next 14th August.

At 11.30am Fr Mickey will
be celebrant of a Club Folk Mass and we encouraged all family members of all
underage players to attend. A huge effort has gone into the music for the Mass
by Tracy Tobin and the choir

Tractors will start
gathering for the Tractor Run at the priest’s field from 10.30am. At 12.30 the
’Tractor Run’ will commence and the route will take us down to the corner, up
the Rathcline Road, over the hill of Rathcline to Moran’s  where we turn left through Aughaloughan,
Carrowstrawley, to the Turlough and turning left at Cashelbeg to Newpark
crossroads. Then down through Lisnacusha to Toddy’s cross where we turn right
and on to Lehery crossroads where we cross the main road and continue through
Mahoraveen and Clonfower. At Clonfower crossroads we turn left and at Jimmy
Clancy’s house we take the ‘Line’ road down to Clonbonny.

The barbeque will take
place immediately following the tractor run at 2pm where the Sports will begin
and many local artists will supply music to cover all tastes.

How good are you at
guessing weight? You can put your knowledge to the test as there will be a
Guess the Weight of cattle and also Guess the Weight of sheep.

Some of the activities on
the day will include a Dog Show, Face Painting, Sheaf Throwing, Egg and Spoon
Race, live music and many more surprises. This is a new and novel day organised
by the minor club and club would like to see a huge number of tractors on the
roads through the parish on the day.

of their aunt Molly Wall in England recently.

Shannon Gaels

The Shannon Gaels Minor
Club have entered the 15 a side Minor championship. The club and Grattan’s have
come together to give the minor club players the opportunity to compete for the
prestigious Minor championship 15 a side. The club does not have enough players
on our own to play 15 a side and this coming together will assist the players
to compete at the highest level. This coming together does not affect either
club in terms of playing individually in their own respective leagues and
championships. We wish the team Western Gaels the very best of luck on Tuesday
night in Clonbonny at 7.30pm. We wish all the players well and hope a big
number to turnout and support the lads through the championship.

One-Day Pilgrimage to Lough Derg

A one-day pilgrimage to
Lough Derg will take place on Sunday 21st August leaving from
Ballyleague Hall at 7am. The island contribution is €30 and the bus fare has
yet to be determined. For those wishing to avail of the bus and pilgrimage they
can make enquiries to Mary, phone 043-3321969.

between 2pm and 6pm. Some of the features of the day will be Horse draw
Reapers, Vintage Tractor-drawn reapers and Binders, Combined harvesters,
Threshing Display, Craft Display, Home Cooking, Dog Show and a host of other
events.

Last
year the festival came back to Lanesboro and it was a great success. This year
promises to be even bigger and better. It is a day not to be missed. Proceeds
