A Stanley 2 tool
box, black with two yellow lids on top of the box, went missing from an area on
the Green on Thursday 23rd October. The name of the owner is on the
outside and inside of the box. If anyone found this box could they get in touch
with Mags Gillen please?

Lanesboro Bridge Club

The results of
the competition held on Wednesday 2nd November are; N/S 1st

Cake Sale

12th
Ballyboro scouts will hold a cake sale in Ballyleague hall on Sunday week 20th
November from 11am to 12.30pm. Your support will be much appreciated.

Zumba Dance Classes

Zumba dance
classes are being held in St. Faithleach’s GAA club house every Wednesday evening
at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome

Thank You

The organising
committee of the recent Table Quiz and Auction in aid of Breast Cancer in the
Pier Inn would like to thank everyone who supported, in any way, towards the
huge success of the night. Your support was hugely appreciated and a sum in
excess of €2,250 was raised on the night.

Sympathy

We would like to
extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs Una Healy, Cloonadra and her family on the
death of her sister Ellen Garvey, Moher and formerly Elphin last weekend.

Kilgefin Community Games

The AGM of Kilgefin Community Games took
place on Monday 24th October. The would like to extend their thanks
to those who came to the meeting or otherwise supported the formation of the
committee and continuation of Community Games in Kilgefin.

Lanesboro Library

Go
along and check out the new fiction and non-fiction titles available now! The opening times are as
follows: Monday 2pm – 8pm, Tuesday 2pm – 6pm, Wednesday 2pm – 8pm,
Friday 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm.

Peregrine Readings:

Authors Marita Conlon McKenna,
Conor Kostick and Mary Rose Callaghan will read from their works on Wednesday 9th
November at 7.30pm.  All are welcome to go along.

French Conversational Classes at Lanesboro Branch
Library

These classes are aimed at adults wishing to develop
their conversational skills and are particularly suited to people travelling
abroad or for parents wishing to help their children with their homework.  The French class will commence
on Wednesday 16th November from 7pm to 8pm. Each six week course
costs €30.  Pre-booking is
advisable as numbers are limited. To do this or to obtain further details

Lanesboro Shannonside
Indoor Market

Come and visit the indoor market in St. Mary’s parochial Hall,
Lanesboro, every Friday, from 11am to 2pm. Patrons will be able to choose from
a wide range of stalls selling local home baking, local free range eggs, local
mushrooms and jams.  Forever Aloe Vera products, real gold, sterling
silver and costume jewellery, goats milk beauty products, household goods,
delph, bric a brac, DVD’s & books, make up, handbags and nail art
products.  Car parking and playground to rear.  Tea, Coffee and light

Book Launch

You
are all invited to Longford County Library for the launch of Kieran Furey’s
latest collection of ‘Tales from County Roscommon’ and also Lanesboro Lasraí
groups first collection ‘Kindling’s’. The launch, that will be performed by
Ciaran Mullooly,  is on this Wednesday
night in the County Library in Longford Car Park and will commence at 7.30pm

Anger Issues

Knock
Counselling Services, in conjunction with the Irish Association for Anger
Management are running a two-day intensive Anger management programme in Knock
on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th November.  Full information can be obtained from Peter

All Dog Owners

The
Dog warden, Pat Mulryan, will be calling on all dog owners in the coming weeks
to inspect dog licences in the Lanesboro Rathcline area.

PTAA Annual
Dinner Dance

The
Longford region PTAA will hold its Annual Dinner Dance in the Rustic Inn,
Abbeyshrule on Friday night  next 11th
November. Traditionally this dance is the dance of the year and a wonderful
night is assured. Music will be provided by J & S Sound. The dinner will be
served at 9pm. Tickets are priced at €25 each and can be bought from Breda
Moran or from O’Brien’s Corner Shop.

Charity Shop

The Friends of
Asthma Charity Shop, Main Street, would like to thank all their supporters and
friends over the past two years and the shop will be holding a free second
anniversary Tombola draw. For every purchase and donation made during the month
of November you will receive a free ticket for the draw.  Call in during the month between 10am and 5pm
and you will be in with a chance of winning the many prizes.

St. Faithleach’s GAA

Senior League Semi-Final – O’Rourke Cup: We play against
Elphin in the upcoming League Semi-Final. See fixtures for details of date
& venue.

Minor Ladies: Our Minor Ladies play against St.
Dominic’s in the upcoming Minor League Shield Final on Saturday 19th November in Knockcroghery. See fixtures for details.

Cards: Every Tuesday
in the Club House, 9.00pm. All welcome. Results of last week’s games – 1st,
Dan/Gerry. 2nd Frank. The last game winners were Pat/Tim.

Upcoming Events: Cookery Demonstration with Declan
Molloy in the Club House, 25th November at 8.30pm.
Ballyleague NS Fund Raising Event with Frank Nelson in the Club House, 3rd December. In the run-up to Christmas,
there will be something special in store for kids at St. Faithleachs GAA Club
House on 18th December, further details to follow.
The Club are also running a Christmas Draw with Large
Hamper plus many more prizes, €2 per line. Sports Quiz to be held in the Club
House on 28th December.

Sympathy: The Club extends deepest sympathy to
the Garvey & Healy Families on the death of Ellen Garvey, Elphin, sister of
Una Healy, Cloonadra.
